Step-by-step process to become a State Tested Nurse Aide in Ohio
- 1 Complete State-Approved Training: Finish 75 hours of Ohio Department of Health approved NATCEP training (59 classroom + 16 clinical hours).
- 2 Meet Basic Requirements: Be at least 16 years old, have a high school diploma/GED, and pass background checks.
- 3 Register for State Exam: Apply through D&S Diversified Technologies' TMU portal within 4 months of completing training.
- 4 Pass Competency Exam: Pass both written (79 questions) and skills demonstration tests. Exam fee: $104.
- 5 Get Listed on Registry: Upon passing, you'll be added to the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry and can begin working as an STNA.
