Giving a 1-star only because it the lowest rating possible. After months of receiving countless emails and phone calls pleading for my O+ blood, I finally make an appt and show up 15mins early.\n\nAfter waiting 1.5hrs I’m still not called to the chair. I literally see others showing up after me being seated first. After 1.5hrs, I inform them that I need to leave. Rather than being understanding and apologetic for the wait, I get a mouthful of attitude.\n\nI’ve been donating blood for years at various Red Cross locations across the country and never have I received such treatment . I can see myself having to deal with piss poor attitude at work but I literally sat here for over 90 mins with an appt so that “I” could provide a free service!\n\nI’ve never experienced such inefficient scheduling, incompetence and complete lack of respect for patrons’ time. If the Red Cross ever wonders why us doctors don’t sit around the clock trying to donate blood, it’s because our time is better spent saving lives by other means.\n\nTried finding a link or contact info on their website to  express my concerns regarding the employees they hire or even a way to discuss their inefficiency or lack of competency but there is no such access. Not surprised as their reputation speaks for itself.\n\nLiterally sat around for over 90+ mins and what a waste of my time. I won’t be back, not to this ghetto, incompetent and unprofessional location, nor to any red cross location for that matter. The next time the Red Cross wants to plead and cry about an O+ shortage, they can call someone else. I must be the wrong color for help. What a scam they are. Really great organization!!! What to Say... American red cross assisted me after a tree fell on my roof during a storm and went through the roof. They provided me finances I needed in order to have the roof fixed and I now am still getting to live safely in my home. Really nice people that work there! Bs place they have a summer swim that they sign people up for 70 dollars then if your child starts their period they won’t refund you or let you schedule a different week that’s wrong it’s not our fault we can’t control a period and they are taking people money when we are already struggling out here and not just to ask for a refund but at least schedule my child for another week it’s bs this place         No help. Could speak to anyone. One of the female Employees outside was Drunk. And breathing over ppl. Face with breath of alcohol.and this is Red Cross really. Not American Red Cross       Kimberly Patel was very friendly.    Love service They help in disaters  Volunteers manager does not respond to Emails, failed to verify my volunteering hours, and they're extremely disorganized. When I call, the reception lady keep asking for my phone number so the manager can call me back but she never did. I'm not sure how they respond to disasters while they're not properly planned. I highly recommend volunteering with BakerRiply.   I received an email that I was approved for some funds but it never came in the mail. I called the Red Cross several times but to no avail. Only on one occasion was I attended to nicely. I was affected by Hurricane Harvey and I think the Red Cross should do a better job of helping those in need. This is very sad. The building temperature is too cold. Due to taking a CPR /1st aid class for 6 1/2 hrs, I had to suffer in the classroom. Another person in the class covered herself with blankets. Although the instructor did a great job, it was difficult to concentrate in such a cold room. How much money is the American Red Cross wasting on unneeded AC?  Excellent pillar in the community  Appreciate the help.  Thank you so much.  Great customer service.  There is a huge  misconception about this organization especially post- Hurricane Harvey. I know they are contributing to the community resiliency and recovery programs, health services, certifications and training, blood donation, volunteer service, veteran services, and emergency and disaster management .they have given a thousands of people the $400 post disaster event. This is the top non- profit organization who help communities with their needs. The Red Cross is a great place to volunteer! Regardless of some of the negative comments I have read here, in my experience, volunteers and staff get well trained to assist and help the community in the best way they can. Once you become a volunteer with any organization and you have a better understanding of how it actually works, then your perception completely changes. That's why I always encourage everyone to volunteer and get involved before making any positive or negative statements. Great place to volunteer - 90% of the organization is made up of volunteers and they are out daily. 40% of our nations blood supply comes from them and they assist with those displaced by home & apartment fires.
