This place is awful to say the least it is full of money hungry selfish people,from the campus president down to instructors.I worked at sjvc so I know how bad they treat and talk about students and employees behind their back. unprofessional environment and disgusting, All these people care about is getting as many students in as possible and meeting goals for the company. I also attended the business program here I learned absolutely nothing. Career services is an absolute joke they tell you to apply on indeed, so why did I go to school  and waste my time when they promote to help find a job,Isn’t that their whole job?? They treat their employees like trash I was let go because of favoritism they couldn’t answer my question when I asked why I was chosen to be let go,I was hired on first then two more people who had no experience were hired. I had to train them with no extra pay, they refused to learn the payments process because they were “uncomfortable”so I had to do it for them.  please take this as a warning and do not attend!!!    A wonderful place to work! SJVC has gone above and beyond! We have one of the most supportive Management Teams! Thank you to our President and Deans for making the work environment so pleasant and always going above and beyond when it comes to training and communication! I love my job and the environment! I am currently an MA student at SJVC Fresno and entering my 4th module. My instructors have been amazingly helpful. They truly care not about how you’re doing in school but outside of school as well. 10/10 recommend enrolling! SJVC I have learn so much about the medical field and I have grown as a person and to be more professional not just in the job but in life. Great-full to have chosen SJVC to continue my education. I went to SJVC in 2018 for Medical assistant program, all we did was prepare for the NCCT test and I passed. However my issues is the hiring requirement for instructors, it’s a hit or miss and while I respect my past instructors I also I can’t say they did a real good job especially having bachelor/ associate degrees. I was never told to upload my diploma so I was never truly certified. I struggled miserably in the field with basic stuff like icd 10 cpt codes even how to answer a phone but hey I learned on my own. I’m thankful for my experience for it made me a better medical assistant instructor to my students and I use my experience that I went through at SJVC and the clinic/ urgent care to make sure that they understand the basics task a medical assistant might encounter. My experience at SJVC so far has been wonderful. I enjoyed all my classes and I have great instructors that helps us all the way. This is not good service. This school takes your money and does not help you. Good campus, really good curriculum. There were so many bad things that were said about the staff from older students.. I didn't believe it, but then you experience it 😒 . Great school but it's best if you just don't be yourself with some of the staff. Some aernt good with people but they are authority. You may be treated like your still in high school or as if your not an adult.  But very great school. You will learn a lot! The Visalia  location is a joke they don't ever answer there phone or call back The counselors aren’t much help. They give you attitude so be careful enrolling into this school. Dean doesn’t care or address problems his students bring up. This place is a joke. Spend your money somewhere else SJVC Fresno location is genuinely an awful place to work. I worked there for almost a year with NO supervision. I never had a direct boss and had a lack of training. They expect you to reach a high goal with no training or support. The management has always been negative and offered zero support when we would ask for help, bring up issues, and treated us poorly. They FIRE staff so often and associates are constantly quitting after they realize how bad the job is. Everything was always your fault, no matter what the circumstances were. It was extremely draining to work for a company who did not value their employees hard work and constantly treated them with disrespect. If anyone is looking into the medical assistant field please do yourself a favor and look at the pay rate and how much it costs to attend this horrible program. Program costs about 30k and MA barely make that yearly, you can go to a community college for about the same time and get paid to go. I cannot wait for SJVC to get sued for taking advantage of vulnerable people, giving false promises to students of a career in medical assistant, you will not be able to live on that type of low income. You have a better opportunity making more money at Target, most of my credits did not transfer even though I was told they would so I wasted my time. I had to retake most of my classes which I did in about the same time as I was at sjvc and will be applying to the nursing program. This is a horrible school Great school would recommend   I just got a question, does this college have PA(physician assistant) program?   I was not sure what to expect with many apprehensions of returning to school after 20+ years staying home, raising my children. SJVC has an excellent MA program, with caring instructors who are there to guide you and assist you any way they can. The curriculum is easy to follow and the hands on labs are amazing. The administration department and dean also makes themselves available with any assistance needed. I have felt I had a full support group at SJVC. I would highly recommend SJVC.  Currently in the DA program and its really good. The teachers/professors really try to help you succeed. Would recommend not working if you can due to this being accelerated learning.    Two different programs, two degrees, the staff and instructors were great i really enjoyed my time with the school  I am only in my third module for MA but I can honestly say I’m learning a lot!
