The American Red Cross is a great place to get your CPR certification. The online process to sign up was easy and decently priced. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and hands-on. She would explain the concept, do a demonstration, then split the class into groups to practice what we learned. Highly recommend getting CPR certified here, you never know when you may save a life. 90% of your donations go directly to people in need at the worse moment of their live. I am a American Red Cross volunteer and I see 1st had the great good your donations do. For a non-profit organization how does the American Red Cross CEO make $694,000/year. When our apartment complex on Swiss Ave, run by Power Properties, collapsed and nobody would help. American Red Cross stepped up and helped us all. The apartments wouldn't help or even fix the damage, but thank God for Red Cross! Call them! Very professional abd clean atmosphere. This place represents government and efficiency at its finest! Outstanding customer service, please be careful aware that there are third parties for their blended classes when you sign up online. Had to wait an hour even after appointment.  Always love and appreciate the hard work and the mission of the Red Cross. Keep up great work! Website says open at 8am.  I arrived at 10:45am to donate and no one answered the door.   I called and no answer.   I waited 20 minutes and tried the door bell again and still no answer.  I called and no luck.   If donating is so important than have the same importance in being available or even a sign on the door to let us know you’ll be back.  Just a thought.   Not sure which ARC we had -- Dallas or Corsicana but on Saturday, June 7th, a mobile unit came to Waxahachie on Brown Street (a church) and I had the great pleasure of having Yani (I think short for Yanique) as my attendant. I have rolling veins and, therefore, dread giving blood. As an O Negative person, I feel obligated to give but often wind up as a pin cushion. Yani was SO GOOD I actually did not understand at first that I was officially giving blood.\nIf I could give Yani 10 stars, I would. And, if I know Yani is anywhere -- anywhere -- close to me, I will give again as soon as I can.   Very friendly staff but there is never enough people for what they schedule donations for. The last donation I went to there were only three people working and the poor volunteers were absolutely overwhelmed. They need to schedule way more people, if you donate it this location just know you are going to wait  Very friendly and hpful staff. I give blood every 8 weeks and it always seems like this location is a little bit disorganized and takes longer than necessary. I tend to go to local churches or volunteer organizations as they are more organized and I can give blood quickly and get in and get out. Wish I could have gotten some help during the Winter Storm.  Suppose their resources are limited.    They were very professional! They also exhibited courtesy and kindness! They made the whole experience very relaxing!   Glad they can help. Thanks They take good care of you but just always so incredibly slow. I've never spent less than 1.5 hours here  I have never had a worse experience donating blood I donated blood. The staff were friendly and attentive. I was in and out in 30 minutes to give blood. The staff at the Harry Hines ARC were professional, kind, and caring. I had an appointment to donate blood today and I showed up and checked in and went into a room with about 10 other people who were waiting also.  The person that checked me in told two other people waiting that it was going to be another 20 minutes.  I asked how long the wait was and he said over an hour.  Another person there said he had been waiting two hours and another person said he had been waiting an hour and forty five minutes.  I left.  I was very disappointed.  Not a very efficient organization.  They are going to lose donors if they make them wait for long periods of time. Great location and very professional and friendly staff. I’ve donated for many years all over the country and this Dallas center is one of my favorites. They didn't help me in my time of need.   I went there for blood donation and they didn't know how they do it, they were playing music very loud and busy making conversations with each other, the blood was coming out and bleeding on my arm, I said thank you I don't want to donate, they tried to blame me for moving my arm and I didn't move it at all . Do not go there . If I could, I'd give five stars but since I'm trying not to show an incredible bias ... If you're not aware of all that the American Red Cross does, take the time to look closer. You'll be glad you did.  My sister lost her apartment today due to fire and about 20-30 other people and the red cross did absolute nothing. Saying people have to stay with family or go to shelter. Because it's to many people and they dont have enough money. That's absolutely ridiculous when your taken donation and people money every day but you cant help people in need. That's really sad I will never make another donation again if you cant help people especially with kids in need. You should of at least help the 2 family who completely lost everything.
