A CNA trainee in Alabama must pass the National Nurse Aide Examination within a year of graduation. Nursing homes provide clinical training under supervision. Minimum of 40 hours is devoted to clinical training. There may be some additional clinical training in hospitals and health agencies. The nursing homes must be licensed by the state and the CNA courses must be approved by the state.
The CNA training is of 120 hours and the Patient Care Assistant Training is of 290 hours. On successful completion of training, the student prepares to take the National Nurses Aid Assessment Program.
